How many times have you looked at your existing faucet fixture in your kitchen and thought to yourself, what do I need to know in order to make the right decision in choosing a faucet? One of the first things you need to know is where to look for quality faucet fixtures, no not at the local hardware store or some big box store. The best place to look for a quality facet fixture is at your local plumbing fixture showroom, this will allow you to make a wise, knowledgable selection. A plumbing fixture showroom maybe a little more expensive than a big box store, but they are more likely to have what it is your looking for, this is due to a multitude of different reasons.
- A knowledgable staff.
- A wide variety of faucets to select from.
- Each manufacturer has many lines in itself to select from, much like a car manufacturer.
- The quality of the products are better, which means that they will last longer.
- Most items are usually in stock
Once you decide which store you are going to it is accentual to have the correct measurements from your existing fixture. First is the height and depth of the fixture, this is important because if there is a window sill or another obstruction near the fixture, it is import that your new fixture can clear the obstructions. Second is the hole cutouts for the fixture, is it a single hole or a triple hole? This is easy to figure out, does your existing fixture have a spout and lever all in one, if so than your new fixture needs to be a single hole fixture. Does your existing fixture have a spout, hot/cold levers, than you have a three hole fixture (most likely an 8" center). Remember you can go from a three hole fixture to a single hole fixture by adding a base plate to the fixture, most fixtures come with one.
I hope this answers any questions you may have in selecting the perfect plumbing fixture? The best help you have is the sales associates at the showroom, please ask them any questions you may have in order to make your buying experience more enjoyable.
